Derk Calls on Carney to Come Clean with PMA Contributions

(Selinsgrove, PA) Today, 10th District Congressional Candidate Malcolm Derk called on Chris Carney to dispose of all PMA funds in his campaign account and join the bipartisan push for the Office of Congressional Ethics (OCE) to more thoroughly investigate the scandal-ridden lobbying firm and lawmakers connected to it. The PMA group was raided by the FBI in 2008 and is being investigated for its role in illegal campaign contributions. The firm has since been shut down. (more…)

Six Elected Officials Endorse Malcolm Derk for Congress

Today, Commissioner Malcolm Derk announced the endorsement of one State Representative and five former and current County Commissioners in Pennsylvania’s 10th Congressional District.

State Representative Adam Harris (R-82), Snyder County Commissioner Joe Kantz, Union County Commissioner Preston Boop, Tioga County Commissioners Erick Coolidge and Mark Hamilton, and former Montour County Commissioner Harold Hurst announced today that they have endorsed the candidacy of Snyder County Commissioner Malcolm Derk for Congress. Malcolm Derk Announces Tour of all 14 Counties in PA’s 10th District in 14 Days

Today, Snyder County Commissioner Malcolm Derk will start a tour of all 14 counties in Pennsylvania’s 10th Congressional District. The tour will take him throughout Northeastern and Central Pennsylvania in 14 days.

“Over the next 2 weeks, I will be meeting with residents of the district to listen to their concerns on the important issues facing the country. Chris Carney and the Democratic Congress continue to recklessly spend our money, while failing to improve the economy and decrease unemployment. Derk Criticizes Carney for his Vote on the Senate Health Care Bill

Today, Commissioner Malcolm Derk strongly criticized Chris Carney for his support of the Senate-passed health care bill.

“The people of Northeastern and Central PA do not want this $940 billion government takeover bill. This legislation will not lower premiums for working families, will not bend the cost curve, but will allow for tax-payer financed abortions. Chris Carney says he is pro-life; his vote on this legislation says otherwise,” Malcolm Derk said. “Chris Carney even had the opportunity to support a bipartisan amendment that would stop tax-payer funded abortions. Derk calls on Carney to return Rangel’s Contributions

SELINSGROVE, PA – Tonight, 10^th District Congressional Candidate Malcolm Derk called on Chris Carney to return $21,000 in campaign contributions that he has received from Charles Rangel.

Rangel, Chairman of the influential tax-writing Ways and Means Committee, was recently admonished by the House Ethics Committee for participating in corporate-funded trips to the Caribbean. According to the Politico newspaper, the House Ethics Committee is continuing to investigate Rangel over his use of a New York City rent-controlled apartment and allegations that he raised money for a research center using taxpayer funded official Congressional stationary.
